Roadworks

Roadworks is an in- and outdoor urban dance-theatre piece, in which a dancer, a BMX rider and busker meet and spark a battle of curiosity and prejudice. Choreographic elements include interweaving pathways between dancer and BMX rider, original music and beat boxing enhancing the urban aspect of the piece, movement and spoken dialogues, and the two performers exchanging disciplines with each other.

The movement sequences are inspired by Hip Hop with a strong physicality as well as by contemporary dance elements and traditional Maori Haka Dance.

Roadworks - the quartet is a 7 minutes urban dance theatre work. It is set in a typical London street scene where two dancers and two BMX riders engage in a humorous battle. The piece contains choreographic elements including interweaving pathways between dancers and BMX artists, contact and unison dance sequences ,BMX flatland tricks, a quirky sense of humour and a strong acrobatic elements.
