After recently completing a successful London and UK outdoor summer tour with its latest physical theatre work ‘Picnic’, Etta Ermini Dance Theatre is proposing production support to perform ‘Picnic’ alongside a workshop programme at a series of pan-London Wildlife Trust sites. Etta Ermini Dance Theatre are in working in collaboration with the London Wildlife Trust with the aim to develop new audiences, and providing an unusual interactive dance theatre experience for children, young people and adults combining dance, food-growing and healthy eating. This project is particularly aimed at primary and secondary schools recruited by the LWT.
The creative concept of ‘Picnic’ was developed through an increased public interest in healthy eating, organic foods, foraging and living of the land. These aspects go hand-in-hand with the education programme currently offered by LWT. Based around a food theme that engages audiences in a picnic context ‘Picnic’ offers a fun opportunity for young audiences to explore the connection between creative dance, healthy eating and growing food in a sensitive wildlife setting.
